2020 Fair Housing Summit
The City of Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission and Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services present the 2020 Fair Housing Summit: Exposing Housing Discrimination
The 2020 Fair Housing Summit was previously scheduled to be an in-person event in April but due to the pandemic, it is now a virtual event taking place on four Tuesdays in September. Each Tuesday will feature a different speaker or speakers presenting about a topic related to fair housing via a Zoom webinar.
Sexual Harassment in Housing - September 1st 2:00PM - 3:00PM
The first week will feature Amy Nelson, Executive Director of The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana, in a review of recent sexual harassment cases and presentation of best practices for preventing and addressing sexual harassment in housing.
Attorney’s will receive 1 CLE/DE General credit for attending this course.

Discrimination in Zoning - September 15th 2:00PM - 3:00PM
Week two will feature Sara Pratt, Counsel, Relman Colfax PLLC, who will discuss how zoning and planning decisions affect fair housing and will review U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development guidance on exclusionary zoning as well as recent zoning cases.
Attorney’s will receive 1 CLE/DE General credit for attending this course.

The Eviction Crisis in Fort Wayne - September 22nd 2:00PM - 3:00PM
Week three will feature Kelly Lundberg, Director, City of Fort Wayne’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services and Andrew Thomas, Staff Attorney, Indiana Legal Services who will discuss the community’s high eviction rates.
Attorney’s will receive 1 NLS credit for attending this course.

Keynote Address - September 29th 2:00PM - 3:00 PM
Week four will feature our Keynote Address, Tim Wise, anti-racist educator, film producer, and author, who will discuss the effects of institutionalized racism and discrimination in housing. Wise is the author of seven books, as well as numerous podcasts and essays. He has spoken to audiences in all 50 states and on more than 1,000 college campuses.
Attorney’s will receive 1 NLS credit for attending this course.
